Hector Pulgar
Assistant Professor
Hector Pulgar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2010. From 2010 to June 2014, he also held a faculty position in Electrical Engineering in Chile. Dr. Pulgar's research interests include power systems dynamics and stability, power system operation and control, renewable energy integration, among others. Currently, he is orienting his effort towards the improvement of power system dynamics using fast energy storage systems such as flywheels and ultra-capacitors.
