Hua "Kevin" Bai
Associate Professor
Kevin (Hua) Bai received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China in 2002 and 2007, respectively. Dr. Bai was a postdoctoral fellow at University of Michigan-Dearborn from 2007 to 2010, an assistant professor in Kettering University (formerly General Motor Institute) in Flint, Michigan from 2010 until 2016 and an associate professor at University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2017. In 2018, he joined the Min H. Kao Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville as an associate professor. His research interests include power electronics with motor drive system, EV battery chargers, accessory power module and battery management systems. He is the author of 2 books, over 100 IEEE papers and holds 11 industrial patents. He is also the associate editor of the SAE International Journal of Alternative Powertrains.
