Kai Sun

Associate Professor

Dr. Sun is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and also a member of CURENT's research group. Before coming to the University of Tennessee, Dr. Sun was a Project Manager in Grid Operations and Planning at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in Palo Alto, California. Also, he is currently an Editor of IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid.

Dr. Sun earned both his Ph.D. in Control Science and Engineering and a B.S. degree in Automation from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
