Upcoming Power and Energy Seminars
The Friday student seminar is now called the Power and Energy Seminar (formerly the SLC Seminar). The Power and Energy Seminar is open to all CURENT students and required for those who are taking ECE 496 and ECE 619.
The Power and Energy Seminar series invites CURENT students, industry leaders and academic experts to participate in seminars at the center's lead institute, the University of Tennessee, every Friday during the semester. Most of the seminars will be available to Partner Schools through WebEx or ZOOM or through a webcast. Industry seminars are typically on the last Friday of each month (Note: seminars may be scheduled on other days based on speaker availability). Seminars cover a variety of topics related to the ongoing research and technical development of the nation's power grid.
Emails will go out a week in advance about the speaker and topic and the seminar will also be announced on the CURENT website in News and on the CURENT calendar. The seminars are usually schedule on Fridays from 12:20pm to 1:10pm and pizza is generally served.
